Adobe has introduced its new AI video generation model, Firefly, which is already integrated into Premiere Pro. The Firefly Video AI model is designed to power various tools within Premiere Pro and on Adobe’s website. This new technology aims to enhance video production capabilities, particularly for media professionals such as video producers and editors.

Adobe emphasizes that the Firefly Video Model is the first commercially viable public video model, although it is currently in beta testing. The model is being tested by a limited number of users who are on the waiting list. One of the initial tools available with this model is the Generative Extend, which allows users to extend the beginning or end of a video by up to two seconds. This tool can also be used for audio adjustments, enabling users to extend background sounds and ambiance tones by up to 10 seconds.

The Firefly Video Model has been developed using techniques similar to Adobe’s previous Firefly image production models. It is designed to seamlessly integrate with traditional video content, ensuring high-quality results. Adobe is targeting media professionals with this tool, aiming to provide them with advanced video production capabilities.

Some major brands, such as PepsiCo’s Gatorade and Mattel, are already exploring the use of Adobe’s AI video production technology. For instance, Gatorade is planning to use Adobe’s model for designing special bottle designs, while Mattel is utilizing the tools to create Barbie product packaging.

The integration of AI in video production is expected to significantly enhance the creative process, offering new possibilities for content creators. As Adobe continues to roll out this technology, it is set to challenge other major players in the AI video generation space, such as OpenAI and Meta.
